主要从事外来昆虫入侵生物学、昆虫遗传转化、害虫综合治理等领域的基础和应用研究。目前的研究方向主要有：（1）外来昆虫入侵和扩张的生态机制；（2）昆虫遗传转化作为生物反应器；（3）昆虫共生微生物的遗传转化与利用。

研究生培养

已培养硕士生3名，合作指导博士生2名、硕士生1名。在读硕士生3名。
